About Us
| Castle View
is situated in a unique location just beside Doolin village and provides a
special experience in bed and breakfast in Ireland.
Castle View was partly built in 1837 by Michael Nagle and in 1855 James Nagle took over the farm and completed the work. The Nagles were an old Anglo Norman family who resettled from Co. Cork during the 17th century. Until the 1970's they were the owners of Doonagore Castle, a round tower built by the O'Connor/O'Brien families during the 15th century. In the '70's, the castle was bought and authentically restored by John Gorman and is now used as a private residence. Castle View is featured in the Historical Genealogical Architectural notes published in book form by Hugh Weir on The Houses of Clare.
